Kumily is 4 km from Thekkady, on the outskirts of Periyar. It is an important spice trade and shopping center. Murikkady is about 5 km from Periyar from where one can have a panoramic view of the nearby cardamom, pepper and coffee plantations. Situated close to Tamil Nadu border is Pandikuzhi which is a popular picnic spot and a photographer's delight.
